You’ve seen them everywhere, dangling from necks on everything from
gold chains to twine and leather straps. They are amulets or trinkets people
latch on for good luck.
For some of us, they are just a fashion statement, but for others they are a spiritual insurance or reassurance of good luck. Take Thailand, for example. People in that Asian nation are spending up to $30,000 for a little bling bling loaded with magical powers. The craze is so out of control that some people have been killed over amulets.
So, next time you are shopping for some bling, be glad you’re not paying $30,000 for it and it’s pretty safe to say the most someone will do when they admire it is ask you where you got it.
