Beautifully Cool

May 6th, 2009, 1:35 pm by Carrie Welch

When spring feels like summer, the right clothes can make all the difference in your comfort during the work or school day. Wearing dresses is a great way to stay beautiful and cool.

Check out these beautifully cool dresses from charlotterusse.com—

There are many light and breathable dresses available, especially right now for the spring. Look for material that is light, like cotton or linen. With so many styles to choose from, make sure you try on LOTS of them on. That’s half the fun! In addition to the fun, it will also help you see which styles fit your body type best.

Very Cool!

March 31st, 2009, 10:05 am by Carrie Welch

I love to check out all kinds of websites and local stores for fashion ideas and anything else cool I happen to find.  With that in mind, I would like to share a very cool website I have been introduced to called modcloth.com.

They have a impressive selection of clothes and it dosen’t stop there! They also have apartment decor and a bookstore! Very Cool!

Check out a taste of their enticing clothes…

The skirt is dainty and elegant, the t-shirt is just awesome and the dress is sweet just like it’s name (Pralines And Creme).  Yum!

Looking for some unique apartment decor?…..Check this out!….

They call this charming potted plant Egglings. It will fit right into your herb garden as it will produce either fresh basil or lavender.

Feel like getting some reading in, how about this one?….

This book is called The ModCloth Vintage Shoe Bible. Sounds interesting to me!

So much very cool stuff to look at …. yet so little time.

Cool Tool

August 6th, 2008, 10:24 am by Carrie Welch

If you have ever wanted to try on a haircut before you actually got it done, you’ll love the cool tool on instyle.com.

You can upload a picture of you and try on celeb hair styles.  How cool is that!!

This can be a VERY helpful tool.  If you have long hair and want to try out a brave short look, you can try it out first.  Maybe you want to see what black hair would look like on you.  I love to try on clothes and now I can try on hair styles too!  Yeah!

I just love it and will definitely try on a few looks for size!

Virtual Fashion Show

November 6th, 2007, 6:30 pm by Carrie Welch

Target has done an amazing thing….

They have presented the first virtual fashion show!

What a great way to make the focus become the clothes and accessories rather than the model in them.  There were holograms with no faces to illustrate the look and feel of each design.

I hope that this is just the begining of a whole new way to present new fashions.

Giving Through Fashion

October 16th, 2007, 9:21 pm by Carrie Welch

As you know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Well, thanks to Ralph Lauren and NET-A-PORTER.COM, you can help support breast cancer awareness and look good doing it.  Ralph Lauren has designed a Fashion Targets Breast Cancer bullseye to be placed on the classic polo shirt.  (The pony will still be located on the shirt.)  The cost of the shirt is $75 and one-hundred percent of net profit from the sale of these shirts benefits Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

This is one item of clothing you shouldn’t feel guilty about buying.

Halloween Fashion

October 8th, 2007, 11:00 am by Carrie Welch

Halloween is right around the corner!

Do you know what you are going to wear yet?

Don’t tell me that you’re one of those that doesn’t dress up for Halloween…..
It’s too much fun to not join in! You get to be whoever you want to be for a day.
Maybe you want to be Tinkerbell or Wonder Women.  How about something a little more scary like Morticia or Wednesday Addams?
Dressing up makes me feel like a kid again……
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to pass that up.

Check out these examples from Halloweenmart.com.

Feeling a little comical?   Bun In the Oven may be the costume for you.

If you are looking to be a little bit mean and a little bit sweet, take a gander at this Barbarian Babe costume.

Whatever you decide, be sure to have a lot of fun!

Don’t Despair

August 19th, 2007, 8:57 am by Carrie Welch

School uniforms…….yuck!

A lot of you out there may being thinking that exact statement, but don’t despair.  Even if your school has uniforms you can still add your own personal style to them.  How?

Accessories…….Accessories…….Accessories!!!!

You may be thinking…. blue skirt and a white top…..boring.  How about some knee high socks that  have every color under the sun on them?  Those socks look awesome with  baby doll shoes.  A set of pink jewelry would add a sweet touch too.  Picture a long necklace or two, multiple braclets and pair of sparkling earings.

Not into a bunch of jewelry?  A big green belt and a big yellow and green flower in your hair is a softer way of personalizing any outfit.  Even just a brightly colored purse can add that touch of you.

So, when you head out to the stores for that plain uniform……remember shopping for accessories to make that outfit uniquely yours will be a lot of fun.
