Bold & Gorgeous

November 7th, 2007, 9:37 pm by Carrie Welch

Dillards has some very bold & gorgeous looks out this season.

If you think that fall is all about the same old black and brown….you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

I love everything about this outfit.  The belt, that purse, those very cute shoes…..Bold & Gorgeous!  Most people would not pair a green dress with purple accessories.  I’m glad they did.

This outfit is stunning.  It could be a normal black dress with a pair of trusty black pumps.  Add a touch of red with the lipstick, choose a belt with a buckle and some super cute silver flats.  Don’t forget the silver clutch purse to finish the look.  Now you have a unique take on the little black dress.

If the green and purple were a bit too much for your taste, try this toned down version.  Adding a pair of colorful tights to your skirt or dress can make a world of difference.  Gorgeous!

Here are a few more Bold & Gorgeous outfits to tickle your fashion sense….

Virtual Fashion Show

November 6th, 2007, 6:30 pm by Carrie Welch

Target has done an amazing thing….

They have presented the first virtual fashion show!

What a great way to make the focus become the clothes and accessories rather than the model in them.  There were holograms with no faces to illustrate the look and feel of each design.

I hope that this is just the begining of a whole new way to present new fashions.

That’s right…..

Rampage has some smart and fresh sweater dresses available right now.

This grey dress with cowl neck and pleated front is gorgeous.  The soft material and beautiful detail make this dress a must have.

How about this red turtleneck dress with banded bottom hem?  Red Hot!

To take a walk on the casual side, check out this stylish weave pattern dress.  Those buttons, the cap sleaves and even a pocket on the bottom.  Sweet!

These dresses would also look great with a pair of jeans, slacks or tights.

Oh the possibilities.

There are plenty of styles and colors to choose from….

Grace

October 24th, 2007, 7:06 pm by Carrie Welch

Six beautiful dresses have been made in honor of actress Grace Kelly.  Designers were asked to create a modern version of looks she has elegantly worn.

Each dress will be auctioned to benefit fellowships and scholorships for dance and theater.

Giving Through Fashion

October 16th, 2007, 9:21 pm by Carrie Welch

As you know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Well, thanks to Ralph Lauren and NET-A-PORTER.COM, you can help support breast cancer awareness and look good doing it.  Ralph Lauren has designed a Fashion Targets Breast Cancer bullseye to be placed on the classic polo shirt.  (The pony will still be located on the shirt.)  The cost of the shirt is $75 and one-hundred percent of net profit from the sale of these shirts benefits Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

This is one item of clothing you shouldn’t feel guilty about buying.

The Trench Coat

October 12th, 2007, 10:07 pm by Carrie Welch

What a wonderful thing the trench coat.  Trench coats began as a military raincoat in the early 1900’s and has been a mainstay in fashion consistently throughout the years.  They are very versitile because of the removable lining and the length gives you added protection from wind and rain.

Although, the best part is that they are very fashionable!  They were first made in gabardine fabric and now you can find one in anything from fur to satin.  Greta Garbo and Elizabeth Taylor look stunning in these two different styles.

They are back in stores this fall and they are beautiful….

Wet Seal has a Pewter Rhinestone Buckle Trench Coat

You can find a more traditional looking Twill Double Breasted Trench Coat at rampage.com

How about this red one from Topshop they call We Can’t Live Without?

This Satin trenchcoat from BananaRepublic.com would be a nice addition to a prom dress on a chilly evening.

There is a trench coat out there for any occasion.

So if you enjoy the trench coat like I do….

Wow!

October 10th, 2007, 6:41 pm by Carrie Welch

A very wonderful and very sad thing has happened.

The very wonderful thing is that marie claire, Vavoom hair care products and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation teamed up to help children and families with HIV/AIDS.  The way they did this was by offering a very nice vavoom weekend bag for $35.  100 percent of the $35 goes to the EGPAF.

The very sad thing is that they are now sold out!

Just Kidding!

That is actually a wonderful thing as well.  It is amazing what can happen when people help eachother for a greater good.

It’s even better when fashion can be a part it!

Rain Rain Go Away

October 9th, 2007, 7:45 pm by Carrie Welch

Well, that’s how the rhyme goes….

But I beg to differ.

The beautiful rain only brings us more fashion opportunities.

For example….

Start off with a bright pair of citrus city rainboots then add a button detail empire dress.  Next, try donning this diagonal rib beanie.  A yellow gradual bead necklace paired with a green bead necklace and a big yellow ruched tote bag completes the look quite nicely.

That’s just one combination of the multitude of outfits that can come of some rain and a great pair of rainboots

There are lots of styles and colors out there to brighten a rainy day so……

October 8th, 2007, 11:00 am by Carrie Welch

Halloween is right around the corner!

Do you know what you are going to wear yet?

Don’t tell me that you’re one of those that doesn’t dress up for Halloween…..
It’s too much fun to not join in! You get to be whoever you want to be for a day.
Maybe you want to be Tinkerbell or Wonder Women.  How about something a little more scary like Morticia or Wednesday Addams?
Dressing up makes me feel like a kid again……
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to pass that up.

Check out these examples from Halloweenmart.com.

Feeling a little comical?   Bun In the Oven may be the costume for you.

If you are looking to be a little bit mean and a little bit sweet, take a gander at this Barbarian Babe costume.

Whatever you decide, be sure to have a lot of fun!
